Manni is an Alistair Harvey Scholar and an HSBC Scholar who has been awarded multiple full scholarships to pursue their BSc (Birmingham), MSc (UCL), and PhD (Manchester Met) in the UK. Manni’s PhD is hosted by the Creative AR/VR Hub and will begin in October 2026. Currently, Manni is a Research Assistant at the Raspberry Pi Foundation and an academic visitor in the University of Cambridge’s Department of Computer Science and Technology, where they focus on K–12 computing education. Their visiting affiliation sponsored by the Foundation. Before relocating to the UK, Manni earned a BA in Cultural Studies from Lingnan University in Hong Kong and worked at the Centre for Popular Culture in the Humanities (now the International Research Centre for Cultural Studies) at The Education University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Studies programme at the University of Hong Kong. Research focus on Hong Kong Studies and Hong Kong diaspora; Cultural Studies and cultural politics; and the ethical, social, and cultural implications of technology. Manni’s current project focuses on the intersection of AI, XR, and educational experiences, with a specific focus on international students.
